Suitable SUP Equipment

Before any paddle, you should make sure you have all of the appropriate equipment in case of an emergency.

From your PFD to having the appropriate leash, they are all vital components to ensure you will have a safe and enjoyable paddle.

Weather Conditions

Similar to having the correct equipment, you must check the weather before any paddle to prevent getting caught in any potentially dangerous weather.

Never go out in Strong Winds, Offshore Winds, Strong Tides and Poor Visibility. Use your own common sense and don't risk your life for a paddle! If in doubt – don’t go out.

Checking your Equipment

You really can't check your equipment enough, the last thing you want is to be stranded with no solution to the problem.

Make sure your board is always fully inflated, you always have a PFD on you, an appropriate leash and a mobile phone in case of any emergencies.

Evaluating Personal Ability

Are you up for a paddle? Have you had enough to drink/eat? Have you got friends to accompany you?

These are all questions you must consider before going on any SUP journey.
